This past trip was absolutely incredible.
Delicious food, magical experiences, more food, new discoveries, and of course Dole Whips ;) Instead of doing a day by day recap (I’m just too excited for future posts to spend time on that), this will cover the highlights of my week.
First, lets start with the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. I was absolutely thrilled to finally see the attraction in person with all the construction walls down. Love the beauty of the entrance/queue.
Also notice the dwarfs’ house. Such cool details! And the fans. I’m sure we’ll appreciate them while waiting in line when it opens next week.
Next my trip’s picture with my name at the Haunted Mansion. Always have to pose with it :)
One of the coolest things that happened this trip is I got stuck on Buzz Lightyear for about 20 minutes. That may sound really weird, but because we were stuck so long and the system restarted, my friend and I each hit the max score (999,999) twice. Then after we got to walk off the ride! Another experience crossed off my WDW bucket list.
Another first was on the Great Movie Ride. Out of the dozens of times I’ve been on this attraction, every time I always get the Gangster scene. Finally I got the cowboy! Very interesting, but I think I like the gangster better.
Love love love the Festival of Fantasy parade. This time, I decided to watch it twice… in one day. How? Well watch the parade at the start (next to Splash Mountain in Frontierland),
then when it finishes, run through Adventureland down to Main Street. One of the craziest and most awesome things I’ve done. Definitely doing it again, but not in that heat!
Pretty cool seeing the parade from up on Train Station. Love getting the view of multiple floats from a distance and characters up close.
The Backlot Tour……. I spy an original Muppet Vision 3*D logo.
This drawing absolutely cracked me up in the prop room (check the right wall as you first walk in, on the bulletin board)
Do you see any Hidden Mickeys? I was so very sad to have to say goodbye to the beautiful water feature in the lobby.
Friday night was the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at the Polynesian. A few of my favorite included, Fresh Pineapple, Pineapple-Coconut Bread, Aloha Pulled Pork, BBQ Pork Ribs, and the incredible Dessert Pineapple Bread Pudding. I’m hungry just thinking about it…
Saturday I ate at Le Cellier steakhouse in the Canada Pavilion. Tried my first poutine (the Le Cellier), and the best steak (Filet Mignon.) Mmmm. No desert at Le Cellier since we had reservations for the IllumiNations Sparkling Desert party. Churros, fresh fried Doughnuts with ice cream, shortbread cookies, baklava, Mickey bars, and more. We were so stuffed after!
The part of Celebrate the Magic that always chokes me up is when the Dreamer, and my inspiration Walt appears. I love the fact he is recognized in the spectacular projection.
It’s never goodbye, but always see you real soon. On this trip I found an immense amount of inspiration and a greater appreciation for the incredible place I call home. Thank you so much Walt for your dreams and Roy for making them happen.
Keys to the Kingdom tour report coming soon and I’m also heading back down next week for the opening of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Make sure you’re following me on Twitter @mouseuniversity to hear all about it!
